Notes from the Quarry

Was that long enough for ya? The break from reading my emails that is.

In my last one I let you all know that the band would be laying down the goldtops, drumsticks and maracas (okay, there are no maracas) and taking our sweet ass time making up some new songs. We have and we are, so nothing has changed there. BUT the guys and I are planning to get together and head down to Durango Colorado on August 28th and bust out a little rock show. If you happen to be in that area please bring yourself to the holiest of holy rock shows, check us out one last time before we put our asses in the studio and see if we can't make history by rising like a Phoenix out of Arizona from the ashes of our "high-atus" into the upper echelons of rock-n-roll glory, where we truly belong. That, after all, is the plan...

In other news, it has been pretty hard to keep my mouth shut about some more personal action, while enjoying my time off doing the things I do, I have been keeping a little secret from all of you. I am officially a signed artist again. I have taken my pen to paper and made a deal with the devil and it is my pleasure to announce that I, Eddie Spaghetti, have signed on to do a few records with the incredible label that is Bloodshot Records. While the band continues their break throughout the summer, I will be recording my third solo record. In fact I will be in there in about a week.

Now don't let your wheels spin and read that the band is "over". I am privy to the chatter on the message board and this is just not true. After 20 years with basically no real break, no spring break, no rodeo vacation, no holidays in the sun (oh well, there were a few, but you know what I mean) we have decided to just take a fucking break. We need new songs. We need new things to write about other than being on the road and the stage. So the best thing we could think of was to take a damn break. This is not my side band, I am not a hobby rocker, this is my goddamn job, so I will and we will be back on tour and back on stage, but not until we are damn good and ready.

Okay, enough about that, let's hear some more about me!

I am excited to start this new relationship with a label as quality, as high caliber as Bloodshot. They have an amazing track record and their staff seems super ready, willing and more than able to get my shit out there in a way it has yet to be. I have a great batch of songs that I am ready to hit the studio with. Some covers, some not. Joining me for this recording will be none other than the amazing Mr. Scottzilla Churilla. He'll be pounding the "dead skins" like the mo- fo that we all know him to be. Also helping me out with some tasty guitar licks will be the incredible "Metal" Marty Chandler. Who will be channeling his fabulous country guitar work into my new thang. (So, unless Dan Thunder Bolton shows up and puts some magic on it, we'll have three fourths of the Supersuckers on this thing. Nice!) I don't have a title for this record yet and I reckon I could use a few suggestions. So if you have one, feel free to post it on our message board and I'll keep an eye out there for it. (I'm sure I'll get some gems that way... heh heh heh...)

One last thing to tell you about - I have a few solo shows in addition to the Supersuckers show in Durango to inform you of. I'll be down in Tacoma on Friday, July 16th at Hell's Kitchen, fleshing out some new songs I'll be fixin' to record. Then I'll be at Hattie's Hat right here in Seattle on Thursday, July 29th and finally I'll be in Atlanta on Thursday, August 5th at the wonderful Gravity Pub where I'll be rocking the house, solo style once again.

So that's it for now. Make sure you come out and be somebody if'n you're gonna be around. You can come out and tell me first hand what's on your mind, 'cause if I'm there, I'm there to be talked to and met with and all that good shizz... And if you buy something, I'll sign it, I'll lick it, I'll wipe my ass with it because I'm there to please.

Get ready, Here I/we come!

Yep, it's time to get ready people of the west coast and Texas because here I/we come. First, the one man show that is the Eddie Spaghetti experience is comin' down the west coast starting this Wednesday, April 28th in Portland, OR! Then I'll be jet-setting it on down to LA for a show there on the 29th then I'll be in Vegas, San Diego, Huntington Beach and Fullerton, CA respectively. So please, if you're in one of those areas come on out and see me. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll become a part of the show if you can yell loud enough, so do just that! Then I'll be hooking up with the rest of the Greatest Rock-N-Roll Band In The World for some awesome in Texas. We'll be in Houston on May 5th then Dallas, Tyler, Austin (where we will be opening for none other that the Killer himself, the incredible Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis!) and finally Corpus Christi. Just another short run for the band to keep the engine tuned up and run over some of this hot new rock we've been in the quarry mining for y'all. So people of Texas, please don't miss the chance to come out and see a band that is truly firing on all cylinders. We're gonna be awesome, so why don't you be awesome too and come out and get the Supersuckers experience, LIVE! Where it counts. I always say that a live show is something you have to go and see for yourself, you can't download that experience, you don't get the same feeling from a live recording as you do from actually being there, soaking it up, breathing it in, chewing it up and spitting it out for yourself. Right there, in the thick of it. You need it. And we need you!

Hot off the presses!

Hey there everyone, it's your wayward pal, Eddie Spaghetti here. Long time, eh?

Well, I'm sure by now you've heard that we weren't able to make it to Europe recently. Some unfortunate events transpired and we just couldn't make the trip. It's a real bummer too. This is the first time we've ever had to cancel a whole tour and rest assured, we don't plan on making a habit of it. We're just not the canceling types! That brings me to the next piece of news, which is what the Supersuckers are doing right now. We are currently taking a little, much needed, break from the rigors of the road. That's right, you heard me correctly, we're pulling ourselves off the treadmill for a spell in order to properly put together our next rock juggernaut. It's going to be weird not constantly being on the road with the band but I think it's what we need to do in order to get the creative juices flowing again. Not that we won't still be doing the odd show here and again, because we certainly will, just not the constant flow of show after show, you know?

You'll be able to catch an Eddie Spaghetti show or two in the next few months as well since I will be hitting the road on my own for the first time in the states. So keep an eye on our website for dates regarding that action! In fact, for those of you in the greater Northwest area can come and see me this Tuesday night as I will be bringing my act to the lovely Hattie's Hat in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. That's right this Tuesday, the 23rd of March! I will be going on at around 9:00pm, so get there early and stay as long as you like. It's going to be a lot of fun! It's the first show in the new Hattie's back room, so I'm kind of a Guinea Pig and I'd really like to see some of you come out to help make it a success!

I guess that's all really. I just wanted to give you all a long overdue update as to what's going on around here. I'll try to keep you all posted as to our progress with the new record. It's going to be a good one! It HAS to be!!!

Supersuckers Cancel European Tour!

The Supersuckers have experienced a family emergency in their ranks. As a result, the scheduled tour of Europe is now canceled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. The band look forward to seeing all of their fans in Europe later in the year.

That's right, tonight I will be playing in the groovy little 'burb of Brooklyn NY at the Trophy Bar. I got this gig sprung on me last night when I was in Hoboken at DC's which was an awesome time and they assured me there were more awesome times to come out in Brooklyn, so what the hell? I agreed to do it! So if you're one of those types who doesn't want to travel into "the city", here's your chance to come out in your own neighborhood and see the show. Don't miss it! Bonus Action

Hey there people of impeccable taste! As we're winding down this latest Supersuckers tour I feel as though I would be remiss in not mentioning the chance that some of you will have to catch some bonus action. That's right, I will be lingering around the east coast doing some solo shows after the band has all gone home and I'd hate for you to miss it. After our last gig of this tour in wonderful Providence, RI on the 31st of January I will be heading down to New York City to do a show at a place called the National Underground on Monday, February 1st. Then I'll be over in beautiful Hoboken NJ to do one at DC's. I'll be following that gig up on the 4th with a show at the awesome Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park NJ. If you've never been to The Lanes, it's something you really wanna do, not only is it a great place to see a show, it's a great place to bowl. I bowled my highest score ever there one time, something like a 245 or so. Ridiculous!

After all that northeast action I'll be jet-setting on down to Atlanta for the final solo show of the run at the lovely Gravity Pub on the 5th.

So there ya go! Come on out and be somebody if you're in any of these areas, all right? You can't say you weren't warned...
